Heather's Happenings

This is where you would normally see “Heather’s Happenings”.  However, she has been so busy with the American International School of Accra (AISA) of late and dealing with a serious dental problem that she just cannot find the time to write.  She leaves the house at 6:15am and gets home around 5pm exhausted from working only to sit down and work more on her Masters.  This along with an environment that would tax even the heartiest of souls (most days are in the 90’s and her AC has failed again) has taken its toll on her.

So, just to let you know that this is me (PC) writing here about a hard working wife that he admires and loves dearly.

The picture to the right is the AISA school body giving the “thumbs up” for a friend of Hunter’s from KCU in Grayson, KY, Nicholas Nischan, that is dealing with a brain tumor.  Hunter met Nick when I was there working on a bible degree and my masters.  Heather and Nick's mom, Tammy, worked together at Carter Christian Academy, another start-up school.  The Nischans, as well as all our other friends there at KCU, will always hold a special place in our hearts.  We pray for them often in their great work for God in Grayson, KY.

God bless you Nick and know that there are kids from 17 different countries praying for you in Ghana as you go through this ordeal.  We love you!  Click here to see Nick's webpage.

The kids are making the Ghana flag out of their uniforms.

Petition God on our Behalf:

1.       Container:  The shared missionary container left the US on March 7th and should arrive in Tema on April 27th.  Please pray for a safe arrival and that we can clear the goods in a timely fashion.

2.       GCUC: Pray that the students will do well on their exams and they will all have a safe trip back home for the long break.

3.       GCUC: Pray that funding will come in for the President’s House and the second wing of the dorm building.

4.       American International School of Accra: Please pray that we can secure the funding we need to begin work on the new facilities.  We are asking the Church Development Fund to look into possibilities of funding, as well as a couple of local banks.

5.       Beacon House Orphanage:  Romana Testa is in the UK for medical treatment. Heather has asked for prayer for several hopeful adoptions.  Please pray for Romana and that the adoptions proceed and these young children can move on with their new families.

6.       Heather: Heather has had serious pain in her jaw for a while now and needs 3 more root canals along with some other work on her teeth.  We do not have dental insurance.

7.       PC: There are so many things God has me working with right now I find that I need extra energy and time to work. Please pray that I can find time and the energy to continue work on my doctorate degree this upcoming long break.

8.       Family:  Please pray that funds come in for our upcoming furlough in Dec. ’07. We need approx. $6500.00 for plane tickets and $2000 to repair the transmission of our furlough van.

PRAISE GOD

1.       Family: We thank God for the generous people in Foscoe, NC helping us out in God’s time to take care of our Visa and local tax issues.  We are now legal for another 2 years. They also covered the cost for Heather’s first root canal.

2.       Container: Praise God for all the hard work done by Tim Moon and John Latimer in Carrollton, GA on packing the container. Also, that most of the needed money for shipping came in.

3.       GCUC: We received our contract from Wales and are 100% officially validated by Wales University, UK.

4.       SCD: Praise God for our new faculty member, Kimberly Daniels, on a five-year stint with us from Team Expansion.

5.       Y’all: I can’t say it enough that without your prayers, emails, support, there is no way we could function here and be productive.  God bless you for caring about this mission!
