Patrick is a graduate of East Carolina University with a BS in Construction Management. He holds an MBA in International Development from Hope International University and is a Doctoral Candidate with Robert Kennedy College in Zurich Switzerland.  Before going to the mission field he was a project manager for a large construction firm in NC. While active in the local church, Burlington Christian Church, serving as youth sponsor, he responded to the need of a veteran missionary in Ghana. After serving three years in central Ghana building a daycare / church building and administering benevolence projects for the mission he responded to the call of fellow missionaries in Accra, Ghana. They requested his management expertise in large projects. As is Patrick's normal mode of operation he worked and trained himself out of that responsibility so that now Ghanaians are doing the bulk of the work managing and building the new campus.  He still consults on occasion when asked by the college as well as other missions in Ghana.  He is currently advising the "soft-start' of the American International School of Accra (AISA).

Patrick's next challenge is to assist the college develop the School of Community Development, a school under the new university structure.  This School will be the home of several new degrees at GCUC designed to meet the physical as well as spiritual needs of Ghanaians.

The degree, BA in Development Management, was officially accredited by the University of Wales, UK in Feb. '07.

Currently, Patrick is the Dean of the School of Community Development and teaches subjects in Management, Development Theories, and Computer Technology.  He is well known throughout Ghana as a man you can call on for assistance in these areas.  His current research is in the area of institutional capacity transfer between Northern NGOs and their counterparts in developing Africa.

In his spare time, Patrick is also involved in establishing Little League Baseball in Ghana and is currently serving as the Coordinator for the Accra League.

Heather is a graduate of Elizabeth City State University with a BS in Education. Heather is the daughter of Richard Hostetter, a co-founder of GCU, and spent the first 11 years of her life in Ghana so Ghana is like her second home. Before returning to Ghana she worked for a private company that cared for special needs clients. After returning to Ghana as a missionary, continuing in the educational footsteps of her father, she set up the curriculum for the Sunyani Christian Daycare. Heather now spends her days teaching at American International School of Accra, a joint Christian school project between NICS and several Christian missionaries in Accra.

Heather is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Educational Counseling along with being mother and teacher to the children; Kayla (14), Hunter (11), and Jaden (5).  She occasionally travels to the Upper East Region on medical evangelism trips teaching healthcare, nutrition, and hygiene. She also works with orphanages in setting up Christ-centered educational curriculum.  The latest is Beacon House of Accra.

My responsibilities with Ghana Christian University College at present are to facilitate and develop the new School of Community Development and the Development Management degree program, teach in the new Graduate Program and consulting in the building of new campus facilities. As part of African Mission Evangelism I also have responsibilities in gathering the resources of Christians world-wide to assist in spreading the Good News of Christ Jesus to all who have not heard and to teach Restoration Movement ideals to the denominations so that only God is glorified.  It is my sincere desire to educate motivated Christians in such a way as they can play a more active role in the development of Ghana on a spiritual as well as physical level.  We at Ghana Christian University College strive to be a premier Christian university in West Africa, bringing hope through Christ to a region of the world that is ready for the truest freedom, a freedom only Christ can give.
