The Brights Tim and Twyla Bright and four of their children stepped off of a Ghana Air jetliner arriving in Ghana in June 1991. The Brights settled in after traveling a bit in Ghana and Togo learning the culture and portion of the Twi language. Their four children, Teresa, Tasha, Nathan and Tai enrolled in Ghana International school where Twyla taught at the secondary level for six years. Tim and Twyla came to Ghana at the invitation of Ghana Christian College and Seminary. Tim Bright had been a minister in the United States for twenty-three years serving congregations in Iowa, Wisconsin, Ohio and Indiana. He received a Bachelor of Theology degree from Ozark Bible College in 1968. He also earned a Master of Arts from Cincinnati Bible Seminary in 1991. During their time in Ghana Tim and Twyla have actively engaged in many church and community related activities. Tim has helped Ghanaian evangelists plant twenty-five churches, led approximately fifty crusade revivals on weekends and held several seminars on church leadership. Tim currently serves as secretary for three standing committees for Ghana Christian College and is a consultant with the National Evangelism Committee. The main work of Tim and Twyla Bright involves teaching. Tim heads the Christian Ministry Department of Ghana Christian College and Seminary. Courses of study include, Pastoral Counseling, Practical Ministry, Evangelism, Mission and Cross-cultural Evangelism, and Church Administration. Besides these courses, Tim has taught classes as the need has risen especially when other faculty members have been on leave. In all Tim has taught twenty different subjects. Twyla continues to teach and is the Language Arts high school teacher at Lincoln Community School in Accra. Since coming to Ghana many changes have taken place in the Bright household. All the children have left the home "nest" and are in the United States. Tim Bright notes, "We have enjoyed teaching, working with people, and learning this culture very much. We look forward to many more years of service in Ghana as God leads us."
