African Mission Evangelism, Inc.

African Mission Evangelism is a non-profit organization of the Christian churches & churches of Christ.  Our mission is to establish a premier Christian college in Ghana for the purpose of educating West Africans in Christian doctrine.

Ghana Christian University is the vehicle in which AME, Inc. carries out the mission. GCU was established in 1966 by a group of American missionaries with the blessing of representative Christian churches in the U.S. Their goal was to establish an institution that used the ideals of the Restoration Movement to teach Christ without denominational dogma to indigenous church leaders.

Statement of Faith

The Board of Directors, administration, and faculty of Ghana Christian College and Seminary believe that:

The God who is revealed in the Scriptures is the only true God.

He revealed his word to man and it has been written down in the sixty-six books which comprise the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. This Bible is inspired by God in a unique way different from any other writings of the world. The Scriptures are accurate and authoritative and are always trustworthy and true. However, since men at times differ in their interpretation of what the Bible says, there needs to be unity in matter of faith, there needs to be liberty in matter of opinion, and there needs to be love in all matters between Christians.

Jesus Christ is the only son of God. He was God who became flesh and dwelt as a man on this earth. Jesus was crucified, was buried, and arose bodily on the third day from the dead. At God's appointed time Christ will return from heaven to judge the living and the dead. Only through response to this message (faith, repentance, confession, baptism [immersion], as present in the New Testament; can men receive God's gift of salvation and eternal life in heaven with God. It is each Christian's responsibility to spread this message throughout the world and save people from the condemnation of hell.

The Holy Spirit is the Comforter whom God the Father has sent to dwell in every true follower of Jesus. He gives strength to Christ's followers to live as God has taught us to live.
